RIO DE JANEIRO – South America’s summer arrived in Rio Friday, Dec. 21, bringing 102 degree F. temperatures and beaches crowded with beautiful people.
Bruna Marquezine, Duda Nagle and Dani Moreno, cast of the popular TV show Salve Jorge, hit the burning sands in Rio’s fashionable West Zone early, to record scenes for the program. Between filming, the three actors enjoyed each other’s company on the beach as paparazzi and fans looked on.
The trio’s enviable bodies, of course, drew attention wherever they went. During breaks, Bruna – who describes herself as “a typical Brazilian girl” – refreshed with a coconut and a dip in the sea.
Delighting the female fans present, Duda Nagle wearing only a traditional Brazilian sunga, showed off his, um, “assets.”
Painting the sands of Ipanema and Arpoador beaches this summer, are newly designed umbrellas replacing the once-ubiquitous red ones. The new pastel colors garnered the approval of beachgoers and “barrequeiros,” beach vendors, who deliver them, along with cans of “cerveja estupidamente gelada,” stupidly cold beer, to the hot, thirsty crowds.
The new umbrellas feature a pattern by designer Leila Fittipaldi. By the end of summer, the vendors association will distribute 40,000 of the newly designed umbrellas to the beach vendors.
