Unmanned bus and sedan crash head on killing driver

BELO HORIZONTE, Brazil – An unmanned bus rolled down a hill at km 179 of the BR-050 in Uberaba, Minas Gerais hitting and killing the driver of a passenger car. The accident occurred around 2:00 pm Friday afternoon.


According to the Federal Highway Police (PRF), the bus driver parked on the side of the highway so it could receive maintenance. The bus began rolling down the highway, invading the opposite lanes, where it collided head on with a Chevrolet Celta.

A PRF official said they did not know how or why the bus moved.

The Celta’s male driver, who remained unidentified and trapped in the mangled wreck, died. The Fire Department and the Federal Highway Police are still on the scene.
