SAO PAULO, Brazil – Federal Police arrested three foreigners last night trying to smuggle cocaine out of the country. Agents at the Cumbica International Airport in Guarulhos, São Paulo caught a Romanian dancer, a Nigerian salesman and a South African man boarding flights to Europe and Africa with cocaine hidden on their bodies or in their luggage, reported online media.


The first was a young Romanian woman, 20, who allegedly tried to board a flight to Portugal. According to the Federal Police (PF), the dancer showed signs of nervousness. Agents performed a search and found 1.3 kg of cocaine hidden on her body underneath a swimsuit.
The South African, 22, and Nigerian, 31, both tried to board a flight to South Africa with about 0.5 kg and 3 kg of cocaine, respectively. Police said the South African carried the drug hidden in slippers. The Nigerian carried the drug hidden in his luggage. In both cases, drug sniffing dogs located the contraband.
Police arrested the three, who face charges of international drug smuggling and face 5 to 15 years imprisonment if convicted.
