Police Make Record Seizure 756 Kilos Pot

Federal Police in Espirito Santo seize marijuana

VITORIA, Espirito Santo – Federal Police (PF) arrested two men with 756 kilos of marijuana in a truck stopped at a gas station in the town of Cachoeiro de Itapemirim, 63 miles south of the state capital, Vitoria, early Friday morning, reported the G1 network.

Police said that the men arrested—a clothing vendor and a truck driver—were the subject of an ongoing investigation. The drugs were found in the form of compressed bricks and were hidden under the floorboards of the truck. The clothing vendor had been arrested before for theft, drug trafficking and attempted murder. He was a fugitive from justice in Rio de Janeiro.

The men were charged with conspiracy to commit interstate narcotics trafficking. They will face trail in Itapemirim and face 5 to 15 years imprisonment if convicted.
