‘Extra-Terrestrial’ Beings Invade Brazil?

GOIAS, Brazil – Some say the weird images emerging from central Brazil resemble ET, the Extra-Terrestrial, others say a baby Jar-Jar Binks, still others scream Photoshop. This week, media began reporting sightings of alien creatures, accompanied by images, which originated in Acreúna, a small town in the Center-West state of Goiás.

Villagers say the creature shown in the photo died during an explosion at a public-works project along the BR-060 highway, which runs between the nation’s capital, Brasília and the state capital, Goiânia. Some residents say that two of the extra-terrestrial animals escaped and are still living in the region.

What nobody has been able to explain is where the photo of the mysterious being originated, or what happened to the body. Some, who claim to know, say that a secretive governmental agency snatched the body and took it to Brasília for examination.

Local Photoshop teacher Leonardo Melo Moreira opines that the photo is a montage. “Note that this is a classic figure of a newborn (human). The blue part is the hand of a doctor holding the baby and someone put another head on it. This is clear when you look at the disparity between the hand that holds the arm that appears in the picture. In short, this ‘creature’ does not exist, it is a fabrication,” G1 quoted the teacher.

Despite the opinion given by the Photoshop specialist, the rumor that the creature was found on the banks of a river and named Nego D´água persist. “It was found there by the Verdão River Bridge. A friend of mine works at the local hospital where they treated a young man who suffered an accident on the bridge there, and the patient had the image on his cell phone,” said stereo installer Alex de Jesus to G1.

People talk about the ‘Extra-Terrestrial’

“In Lizzard Harbor there are days when you come down and the canoes have 30 or 40 hiding underneath them,” swears retiree Geraldo Antunes Pereira.

“It is so ugly, but I don’t know what kind of animal this is, no, God forbid. They say they found one in the Verdão River, by where they are working on the highway,” Lion José Marques told G1.

The story of the mysterious creatures is spreading on the Internet as well. The same image can now be found on a site in the interior of Mato Grosso. Even though, thus far, the story of the extra-terrestrial is just a legend, the tale – and the photos – frighten many people.

“I will not go fishing on the Verdão River. I’m not there. An ugly animal like that there, you can’t get me to stay, no way,” said a fisherman in the area.
