SAO PAULO – Federal Police on Friday found 7 kg of cocaine hidden inside light fixtures at Guarulhos International Airport. Drug sniffing dogs located the contraband during routine baggage screening at the airport.

According to police, the drugs were inside baggage checked by a Nigerian passenger, 29, who boarded a flight bound for Johannesburg, South Africa. Police pulled the Nigerian off the flight before departure and arrested him.
Authorities charged the suspect with international drug trafficking. If convicted, he faces between five and 25 years imprisonment.
