RIO DE JANEIRO – A detainee got wedged in a hole he carved in the wall of the Guaraciaba do Norte Prison, in the interior of Ceara, before dawn Friday, reported online media. The prisoner made a hole and tried to escape but got stuck with part of the body outside and half inside the prison.

The multimillionaire business person, CEO of Yoki Alimentos, which sold to General Mills for close to one billion dollars shortly after he disappeared in May died at the hands of his wife who confessed the killing to police.

SAO PAULO – Civil Police arrested a 64-year-old drug dealer known as ‘Granny Crack,’ Friday morning in central Sao Paulo, reported online media. Police, armed with a search warrant, entered the woman’s apartment and found 100 rocks of crack hidden inside a teddy bear.

According to reports in online media, slogans painted on the facade of the building, in the capital of Rio Grande do Sul, demand freedom for members of the jailed punk band Pussy Riot and called Russian president Vladimir Putin a fascist.

RIO DE JANEIRO – The City of Rio de Janeiro finally “unwrapped” the monument given it by the president of Iran, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, during Rio +20, reported Brazil’s largest circulation newspaper. The Middle East leader presented the statue to the city during the U.N. Conference on the Environment held here in June. The city will not hold an official inauguration ceremony.
