RIO DE JANEIRO – Adriana Lima, 31, Brazilian supermodel and actress, has posed five-months pregnant for the 2013 Pirelli calendar. Lima, best known as a Victoria’s Secret Angel, is the fourth highest paid model in the world, according to Forbes magazine.
Adriana Lima Poses Pregnant for Calendar
Lima announced in March that she is pregnant with her second child. She married Serbian basketball player Marko Jarić on Valentines Day 2009. The power couple have a daughter, Valentina Lima Jarić, born in 2009.
, the award-winning war photographer who took the iconic photograph of a green-eyed Afghan woman who graced the cover of National Geographic magazine in 1985, took the photo.
McCurry declined to shoot naked women for the 2013 calendar. “I wanted to portray women being sexy without being naked,” he said.

Adriana Lima is not the first pregnant woman to appear in the Pirelli calendar over the years. In 2004, British photographer Nick Knight captured the image of model Esther de Jong early in her pregnancy. That image, however, had been digitally altered to make it appear that she was late in pregnancy.
Fellow Brazilian supermodel and Victoria’s Secret Angel, Alessandra Ambrósio, did pose nude while pregnant earlier this year. The photoshoot occurred at the iconic Copacabana Palace Hotel in Rio de Janeiro.
Fashion photographers Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott photographed the visibly pregnant model for an advertising campaign for the jewelry brand Vivara. This was the second pregnancy for as well.
Ambrósio gave birth to baby boy Noah in May. The birth occured in her native Florianopolis, Santa Catarina, in Southern Brazil.
